Deforestation is when trees and forest areas are cut down and used for land. Many companies and organizations cut down trees in order to build a new building on that land such as a new office building or a franchisee. This does not justify ridding trees, which overall helps us in the process. Trees are beneficial for all of us and they are our rights that we should not give up.

Trees give us clean air, water, and soil. We tend to take advantage of trees, thinking that buildings are much more necessary for resources and profit. Unfortunately we need trees now more than ever. Trees give us oxygen. Trees are the cause for our survival. Basically trees absorb odors and pollutant gases, traps those toxic gases, and releases clean, fresh air. Statistics have shown that an acre of trees can provide 18 people with enough oxygen.

For water, the shade provided from trees slow water evaporation from lawns, giving the grass more than enough soil. Even with soil, on hills and slopes, trees can slow the runoff and hold the water in place. There are so many reasons why trees are crucial for human survival.

Trees are very beneficial for humans but they have a cultural significance for the indigenous people. For indigenous people, trees are more than just a place. Certain sites, rituals, and close connections are what brings trees closer to the indigenous people. When we cut down a tree, we are cutting down their homes. These trees have been there for past generations, taken care of by the indigenous people. Along with rituals, the trees provide them food sources and health benefits. For food sources, trees provide fruits, nuts, and medicinal plants. Currently, over 250 million people live in the forests, relying on the trees for food.

For medical benefits, the trees keep the indigenous people away from diseases. The trees have helped indigenous people adapt and ensure their survival. Deforestation does not only take away air but one's culture, ancestry, and survival.

Trees and the environment especially, have been very helpful for animals in their survival. Trees provide food, shelter, shade, and other uses. Trees can give animals what us humans can't in terms of time and resources. Trees provide fruit and nuts, shade from very hot weather, and shelters, especially on stormy nights. They protect animals more than humans can.
